"I decided to make this piece for Brooklyn Public Library because I grew up with the help of my community. In this community, there were women at different stages of life who inspired not just myself, but many others. They took the time to care, listen and inspire. And with this piece, I wanted to capture the importance of leading the way."
Zipporah Fraseris currently a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She is an Animation, Interactive Media and Game Design major. Fraser was a finalist in consideration to design BPL's first Black American Library Card, commemorating Juneteenth being recognized as a City, State, and public school holiday.
